Two roads diverged
in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could
not travel bothAnd be one
traveler,
long I stood And
looked down one as far as I
could
To where it bent
in the undergrowth;
Then
took the other,
as just as fair
And having perhaps the better
claim,
Because it was
grassy and wanted
wear;
Though as for
that,
the passing
thereHad worn them really about the
same,
And both that morning equally
layIn leaves no step had trodden
black Oh,
I kept the first
for another day!
Yet knowing how
way leads on to way,
I doubted if I
should ever come back.
I shall
be telling this with a
sigh
Somewhere ages and
ages hence:two roads diverged
in a wood,
and I -- I took
the one less traveled
by,
And that has made
all the difference.
-Robert Frost
Yes, this is my life and the journey of my new life starts like this poem. My name is priya and i'm going to turn 19 this month. Yesterday night, when i was gazing to the solemnly standing stars in the blanket of the shadows covered by the night, i found myself very marooned despite of being a part of the crowd. I wondered i'm turning 19 still i'm not able to plan out what i really want to do in my life. Geology- a subject field of my interest, career oppurtunities- with luck, the best ; without luck- the worst, a field that very few indians choose to opt. why?? this question always haunts me.. why only ITs and management fields are given importance in our country, coz they have good demand? Then why geology is still a skeptical field in india, though MNC's like ONGC, Shell india ltd., Reliance have good job oppurtunities. Why people always follow the road that has already been trodden ? and may be that is why india a so called developing nation with rich getting richer, poor getting poorer and the stamped middle class people cant follow their own fields of interest. I chose a different field and i want to inspire all those teens who want to live their own dream under this subject. Let's create a new era of growing careers in earth science so that we can also stand out independently and be a developed nation.
